I really, really love gadgets, so you can imagine how excited I was to get an iPod Touch for Christmas.  Over the last few days, I’ve been trying to find new apps (FREE of course…you know exactly what I mean by “of course” if you’ve ever met my husband) to use.  So, I was looking around the iTunes app store and found one that looked pretty interesting. It’s called the NikeWomen Training Club app.  Basically, it’s like a fitness instructor for your iDevice (Phone, Pad, Touch, etc.).

Here’s an idea of how the workouts are structured:

1. There are three (3) fitness levels to choose from.

2. You can select the duration of the workout (15 minutes to 60 minutes).

3. There are drills, with video instructions, to help you perform the workout accurately.

4. It keeps a record of your workouts for quick reference.

5. You can use music from your own playlist to use during the workout.

I wouldn’t tell you about the app unless I tried it myself, so I did a 30 minute workout 2 nights ago to see if it was any good.  The intermediate level for abs and arms, which was 30 minutes (15 minutes each), was a pretty solid workout.  I broke a good sweat and got my heart rate going.

I highly recommend this app!  Try it out and let me know what you think.  Did I mention that it’s FREE?

In the meanwhile, I’ll be scanning the aisles at the iTunes store to see if I can find some other cool things to share.

Happy Training!
